Lana Del Rey may have been high on something when she made her shock revelations to the August/September edition of Complex magazine.
Or at the very least, a little tipsy, as the last thing a big name in the music industry wants to do is to tell the press too much about their personal lives, especially personal sex lives!
However, during her interview with the publication, Lana Del Rey decided she would share some interesting facts about herself, namely that she slept with “a lot of guys” in the music industry.
And we guess that would be at least somewhat alright if sleeping with said “guys” would have helped Del Rey to advance her career. But, oh no, as the controversial singer said in her own words. When discussing her track F*cked My Way Up To The Top, Del Rey admitted that for her the title of the song is kind of literal:
It’s commentary, like, ‘I know what you think of me,’ and I’m alluding to that. You know, I have slept with a lot of guys in the industry, but none of them helped me get my record deals. Which is annoying.
Wow, Lana, really? You really said that out loud? Where’s your filter? Or are you just looking for some good ole’ media attention?
Having been previously engaged to musician Barrie-James O’Neil, Lana Del Rey was also widely rumored to have dated Marilyn Manson and Guns ‘N Roses’ Axl Rose. So when it comes to dating, it’s quite clear what type of men Del Rey goes for.
She continued to speak in the interview about what she is really looking for in a relationship and how that had an effect on the title of her new album, Ultraviolence:
I like a physical love. I like a hands-on love. How can I say this without getting into too much trouble? I like a tangible, passionate love. For me, if it isn’t physical, I’m not interested…. I feel connected to two emotions — aggression and softness. I like that luxe sound of the word ‘ultra’ and the mean sound of the word ‘violence’ together. I like that two worlds can live in one.
For the time being, Lana Del Rey is rumored to be dating, and getting quite serious with, Vogue photographer Francesco Carrozzini who, presumably, doesn’t mind the fact that she slept with half of the men in the music industry in order to advance her career!
