BAFTA Awards Ben Stiller With Britannia Award for Comedy

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles had honored Ben Stiller by naming him this years winner of the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy.

Stiller joins a prestigious group of BAFTA nominated actors and actresses that includes Helena Bonham Carter, David Yates and John Lasseter.

According to BAFTA Los Angeles chairman Nigel Lythgoe:

“Ben Stiller is a master of comedy who, just like the legendary filmmaker for whom this award is named, embodies the remarkable multi-hyphenate talents of actor, writer, director and producer.”

The announcement comes as Stiller’s new movie Tower Heist prepares for release, that movie co-stars Eddie Murphy and is directed by Brett Ratner.

During his career Stillers movies including the Meet the Parents series, There’s Something About Mary and both Night at the Museum films have earned over $5 billion.

In 2010 the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy was awarded for the first time, the winner? Betty White.

The Britannia Awards will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on November 30.

In celebration of Ben Stiller’s nomination feel free to share your favorite funny moment from the comedian, I’m going to take the easy way out and say anything that he did in Zoolander and the milking scene in Meet The Parents.
