Portia De Rossi Divorce: Ellen DeGeneres Agrees To Therapy To Save Troubled Marriage

Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres may be putting the divorce on hold amid reports that the troubled couple has agreed to go to marriage counseling.

The couple has faced divorce rumors for several weeks, with the newest reports suggesting that Ellen was unfaithful while Portia was doing a stint in rehab back in May.

“Portia thinks that Ellen had an affair with one of their mutual friends right before Portia’s rehab stint in May,” a source told In Touch Weekly.

Despite the divorce rumors surrounding Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres, the source said that the couple is committed to fixing their broken marriage. They have reportedly been seeing a therapist since Portia left rehab, though the source said there is still a lot of work to do.

“It’s going to take a lot for Portia to trust Ellen again,” the source said. “They kept up with the therapy after Portia got out of rehab, but they still have a long way to go.”

Reports indicated that it was Ellen’s controlling ways and infidelity that pushed Portia de Rossi into drinking, which led to her rehab stint.

It is unclear just which rumors about the couple are true and which might be embellished. The couple has denied reports of marital problems in the past.

“It’s so ridiculous to me. There’s not one ounce of truth to any of it. I’m very happily married,” Ellen told The Huffington Post earlier this year. “In fact, the only thing we ever argue about is who loves who more. That is all. It really is true. And we argue if we’d let a kangaroo carry us around in its pouch for a year. I would. She wouldn’t. She’ll change her mind. Who wouldn’t want to be in the pouch of a kangaroo for a year? Hopping around. And she’s like ‘no’ but anyway.”

But both Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been much more quiet on the divorce rumors lately, fueling speculation that there is indeed something major going on.
