A supermarket chain in France aims to take all of the ugly, disfigured, and unwanted fruits and veggies that most suppliers throw out and turn them into a cost effective option for shoppers everywhere.

French supermarket chain Intermarché is looking to celebrate the beauty of the Grotesque Apple, the Ridiculous Potato, the Hideous Orange, the Failed Lemon, the Disfigured Eggplant, the Ugly Carrot, and the Unfortunate Clementine as they have developed an initiative that should serve as an example to stores everywhere.

By buying these unwanted foods at a lower cost from suppliers, Intermarché offers these slightly different looking items at a cost reduction of 30 percent, dramatically reducing the amount of wasted food by rescuing fruits and veggies that would’ve previously been thrown away.

This cost reduction allows families to eat healthier and do so without breaking the bank.
