You gotta love Kelly Ripa. The co-host of Live! With Kelly and Michael simply tells it like it is without holding back. Ripa did just that when she and Anderson Cooper were guests on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live.
Cohen had questions for Kelly and Anderson which were tweeted by viewers of the show. Ripa's question from Twitter user Summertime79 was, "What are Kelly Ripa's must-have beauty products?" Ripa's response was not the toothpaste she promotes on TV commercials, nor was it a hair product that keeps her hair shiny and healthy. Nope. Ripa's response was, "Oh, uh... beauty products?...Botox!!" per ABC News.
Yes, Kelly Ripa's big beauty secret and "must-have" is none other than Botox injections! Ripa admits that she is not very ritualistic when it comes to a beauty routine. Mainly because she spends so much time in hair and makeup due to Ripa's line of work. But Kelly says that the use of Botox has cut her "getting ready" time in half per Entertainmentwise.
"Botox has changed my life!!" Ripa shares emphatically. Why? "Because," Kelly admits, "Suddenly my eyelids are no longer resting on my eyelashes!" Yes, that would be a good reason to like Botox.
Kelly says she is not advocating that Botox is for everyone. It's important that you know what you look like and remain a minimalist. With the number of celebrities Kelly Ripa and Anderson Cooper see daily, they tell Cohen that there are many that go overboard with cosmetic surgery and the likes of Botox. Anderson even jokes and says some celebrities "change so much from one season to another you're thinking, 'Who's that person?'"
Kelly agrees and pipes in saying "your cheeks are not supposed to block out your eyes when you smile," per ABC News.
So, how much Botox does Kelly Ripa get? "As much as possible!" Ripa gets injections every seven months she tells Elle Magazine. "And it makes my eyes look a little more open on TV, which is where I happen to work right now," Kelly continues.
Kelly Ripa also tells Elle Magazine that she has been known to get Botox injections in her armpits so that she doesn't sweat there. That explains why she is seen leaving a hard workout at the gym in the same fashion as she arrived.
At 43 years old, Ripa works out daily, mainly because it clears her mind from her constant worrying. "I do it more for my insides than my outside, but the outside gets a nice benefit, too. I feel like my mind is a little quieter when I exercise," Ripa tells the Examiner.
Ripa is certainly in great shape, and admits to being "fat-shamed" during her 20s during her 12-year stint on All My Children. Kelly told the Examiner she received tons of nasty fan regarding her weight, which she used to propel her to get fit.
There is one letter in particular that Kelly kept, framed, and hung on her dressing room wall which reads, "Eat a carrot, you fat bastard." Ripa was actually pregnant at the time with her first child with husband, Mark Consuelos. But it had not been written in the storyline for her character. She keeps the note as a reminder to keep improving herself.
We think Kelly rocks just the way she is. And her hubby of sixteen years agrees, as Kelly recaps their scheduled "date nights" on Live! With Kelly And Michael. Upon first meeting Kelly, Mark tells Elle Magazine, "I thought she was the coolest, sexiest chick."
Evidently, that opinion hasn't changed according to their close friend, Andy Cohen who says, "They're still really hot for each other, and I mean—they are hot for each other." After sixteen years of marriage, and three kids to boot, we give you mucho kudos!
Regardless of the Botox injections and the constant low-carb diets and working out, there is truly no improvement needed, Kelly Ripa!
