Bob Marley Reincarnated On ‘The Voice Of Holland’

Bob Marley has been reincarnated, in the form of a 40-year-old Dutch hospital worker named Mitchell Brunings. Well, maybe “reincarnated” isn’t the right word, since Mitchell would have been in grade school when Bob Marley died in 1981, but you get the idea.

Mitchell auditioned on The Voice of Holland last September, wowing the judges with his magnificent voice. According to Urban Islandz, the video of his audition, where he sings Bob’s “Redemption Song,” quickly went viral, grabbing 15 million views (as of this post).

On his Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) last fall, Mitchell told readers:

I am originally from Surinam, a small country nex to brasil South America, and that is a definite influence on my musical preference!! I grew up listeing to caribean music, salsa, merengue, reggae.

Unfortunately, Mitchell didn’t win, coming in second place to Julia Van Der Toorn. Let’s hope he has a long and successful career ahead of him regardless.

Here is the video of Mitchell’s audition, where he brought down the house and, hopefully, did Bob Marley proud.

What do you think? Does Mitchell Brunings sound like Bob Marley reincarnated? Let us know in the comments.
