Pizza Hut may be best known for its sumptuous deep-pan pizzas, but now the pie giant is moving into cookies — pizza cookies!
That’s right, folks, you read correctly. The powers that be at Pizza Hut decided that it’s high time to create some new revenue, so they are focusing on this new sweet item. The management believes it is going to be a roaring success.
USA Today reported that the all-new Ultimate Hershey’s Chocolate Chip Cookie is around eight inches in size, which is the same as the size of a small pizza, and is oozing with yummy Hershey’s chocolate.
The thinking behind the new product is that customers will enjoy their pizzas, and then want to follow the doughy yumminess with some more doughy yumminess in the form of a huge, fresh chocolate chip cookie. It will be available for take-out and delivery.
The cookie is aimed at the younger market, and Pizza Hut is hoping that it will stimulate revenue in an ever-competitive fast food market, which is always searching for new innovations to keep customers coming back for more.
Carrie Walsh, chief marketing officer at Pizza Hut, said the cookies are just what Pizza Hut needs at the moment. But the cookie isn’t so cheap, carrying a price tag of $4.99 if ordered along with a pizza. Otherwise the cookie will cost an extra dollar.
It remains to be seen what success Pizza Hut’s new Ultimate Hershey’s Chocolate Chip Cookie will enjoy when it hits the streets. What is for sure, however, is that it is a delicious addition as a dessert, and is even more appealing as it is served or delivered warm.
