News of Cheryl Cole’s wedding to Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini comes as quite a shock to her fans. Cheryl and Jean-Bernard quietly got married earlier this month, and now she is sharing the news. The singer and reality TV judge is typically pretty quiet about her personal life, but now she is letting fans in on the exciting news.
Cheryl shared the news via Instagram by posting a photo of her wedding ring and a note. Cole’s wedding took place on July 7 and she says, “We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together.” Cheryl also noted, “I usually do not discuss my personal life” but she is sharing this “to stop the speculation.”
According to The Independent, Cheryl Cole’s wedding to Jean-Bernard had only four guests, including her mother Joan Callaghan. The nuptials took place on the island of Mustique. The X Factor judge started dating the entrepreneur this past spring, so the decision to wed so quickly does stun quite a few of Cheryl’s fans.
Cheryl was married previously to Ashley Cole, but they had a fairly contentious divorce in 2010 after it came to light that he had cheated on her. Shortly after the split, Cheryl was romantically linked to Dancing with the Stars pro Derek Hough, and she later dated dancer Tre Holloway for a bit. In addition, Cole has been the subject of some blind gossip items around the internet regarding other supposed tidbits from her romantic life.
When it comes to Cheryl Cole’s wedding this month to Fernandez-Versini, it seems she definitely kept the plans close to the vest. The Daily Mail shares that Cole’s personal assistant, Lily England, was one of the other guests at the small wedding, and it seems Cheryl’s brother Garry may have been there as well. Cheryl and Jean-Bernard are said to have met at the Cannes Film Festival and they moved in together just a matter of weeks ago.
Reports indicate that no more than 10 people were aware of Cheryl’s wedding plans prior to the nuptials. That said, sources say, “Cheryl’s madly in love and had no fear about taking the plunge.” Supposedly she is even anxious to start building a family with her new husband.
