Kanye West: ‘It’s Hard Not To Want Bad Things For Him,” Says Nick Wechsler

Apart from the millions of dollars, life seems to be hard out West. Between Stacey Dash saying Kanye should “spend some time on Rikers Island” for his comments on rape, and his getting booed off the stage at Wireless Festival 2014, it seems like everyone wants a piece of him. You can add Nick Wechsler, star of ABC’s Revenge, to that list, who stated the following to Bleu Magazine regarding Kanye West (via Page Six):

If the choice is between Kanye and anyone else, I’m picking the other guy… Just his personality… It’s hard not to want bad things for him.

Clearly, he is no fan of Kanye West, based on the above comment, though there doesn’t appear to have been any real motivation for it. Though, like the general population, television stars are also prone to getting annoyed by extreme examples of gluttony. In the case of Kanye West, the recent reports of him spending more than $2 million on his child in the past year, don’t help much.

No report yet on a response from Kanye West’s camp, and it’s difficult to guess whether or not he will ignore the comment altogether or lash out violently against it. Between history with the paparazzi and his fight last January with an 18-year-old assailant who insulted Kim Kardashian with a racial slur, West doesn’t have the best track record for being measured in his responses (though his reaction in the latter situation is arguably justified). West has surprised in the past. Back in 2009, he gave a humble response when South Park creators insulted him in the show (via MTV):

South Park murdered me last night, and it’s pretty funny. It hurts my feelings, but what can you expect from South Park? I actually have been working on my ego. … Having the crazy ego is played out at this point in my life and career. I used to use it to build up my esteem when nobody believed in me. Now that people do believe and support my music, the best response is ‘Thank you’ instead of ‘I told you so!’

While West’s behavior in the years since hasn’t been exactly in line with the above statement, it does show he has the capacity to consider his behavior before acting.

Was this slap in the face from Nick Wechsler unwarranted or did Kanye West have it coming? Let us know in the comments below.
