Stating the Obvious, Amy Winehouse Fears Early Death

Amy Winehouse is terrified she will join the 27 Club, the group of rock stars who died at 27.

Alex Haines, Winehouse’s former personal assistant shared the fears with the British Press, saying that she is obsessed with her own mortality. Haines also claims that Winehouse spends $5,000 a week on her drug habit.

“It was my job to look after her. But it was impossible. I thought she wouldn’t survive the year with all the drugs and self-harming. Cutting herself was her favorite pastime… She’d keep taking drugs until she passed out. I reckon she spent £3,500 a week on them.”

Haines said Winehouse, now 25, fears she will join Jim Morrison, Brian Jones, and Kurt Cobain in dying at 27: “She reckoned she would join the 27 Club of rock stars who died at that age. She told me, ‘I have a feeling I’m gonna die young’.”

Such a strong fear that she’s doing everything possible to not die at 27, but by dying earlier it would seem.
