Cleveland Cavaliers Trade Rumors: Kevin Love Could Be Next To Join After LeBron James Signing

The Cleveland Cavaliers trade rumors are in full swing since the LeBron James announcement, with big man Kevin Love reportedly interested in joining the new Eastern Conference powerhouse.

The Minnesota Timberwolves forward has been on the trading block for weeks, but until now the Wolves have been unable to secure a proper return for the NBA All-Star. But now it appears the tide has turned, and the LeBron James signing may be the reason.

Sources have told ESPN‘s Marc Stein that Love is “intrigued” at the idea of being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers and joining LeBron James. Love had originally rejected a proposed trade to Cleveland around the time of the NBA draft, but that was before the return of LeBron and when the Cavaliers looked like a middle of the pack team at best.

The Cleveland Cavaliers trade rumors say that Cleveland initially offered guard Dion Waiters, forward Anthony Bennett, and a first-round pick to the Timberwolves, but Minnesota reportedly rejected the offer. Sources say that the Timberwolves won’t part with Kevin Love unless they can get last month’s No. 1 draft pick Andrew Wiggins in exchange.

Sources say the Cavaliers appear willing to part with Wiggins, who suddenly does not seem so essential to the team’s rebuild.

Kevin Love has been open about his disdain with losing teams in Minnesota, and could be following in the footsteps of Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett in leaving for greener pastures. In Cleveland, Love would join what appears to be a championship-level squad with James and Kyrie Irving.

Love, who is still just 25, is a three-time All-Star and averaged 26.1 points and 12.5 rebounds last season.

The Cavaliers could have more firepower on the way. The team is reportedly seeking out other players, including Mike Miller, who played with LeBron on the Miami Heat.

If the Cleveland Cavaliers trade rumors don’t pan out, Kevin Love is still likely gone from Minnesota. The Timberwolves were close to finishing a deal with the Golden State Warriors, but reached a sticking point as to whether sharp shooting guard Klay Thompson.
