Corey Harrison, star of History Channel’s Pawn Stars, has some pretty awesome news he’s sharing with the media and that is that he has lost an amazing 192 pounds!
Yup! That’s right! Another Pawn Stars cast member has decided that it’s time to get healthy and shed some of those unwanted pounds. What caused Corey to shed the weight? According to People, Corey Harrison opened up to them about what shocked him into losing weight and that was the idea of possibly getting diabetes.
Corey, 31, reportedly stated that at his highest, he weighed more than 400 pounds, according to ABC News. In 2010, Corey reportedly went to the doctor for a checkup and the doctor put him on preventative diabetes medication. The thought of possibly being diagnosed with diabetes is what the reality star claims was his wake-up call.
“I literally drove straight from the doctor to the lap band center and had the surgery almost immediately,” Harrison told People of his recent weight loss procedure. “Back then, the surgery was too expensive for my bank account, so I had to pay with four credit cards, but it was something I had to do — I was not going to get diabetes!”
The gastric band procedure helped Corey drop 50 pounds within the first six weeks post-surgery, and reportedly an additional 100 pounds within the first year. Fans of the popular show Pawn Stars knew that Corey, also known as “Big Hoss,” was working on his weight and his overall health. He can be seen in a few episodes practicing his boxing and even jumping rope in the back of the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop that is featured on the show, according to ABC News.

After shedding all those pounds, Corey claims that he will not allow himself to slip backwards because he never wants to be that heavy again. “I could never go back to weighing as much as I did,” he added. “It made me realize what I ate, how I ate and what I did to myself.”
So after the surgery and continuing to box 12 rounds five days a week, Corey Harrison now weighs in at 210 pounds!
“When I meet fans, they are always congratulating me on the weight loss,” Harrison explained. “They actually say, ‘You look just like that guy from ‘Pawn Stars,’ but you are a lot skinnier and better looking than him.'”
A 192 pound weight loss is no laughing matter, so congratulations to Corey Harrison on this amazing transformation!
