Kim Fields is back with an old friend for her first acting work in more than two years.
The actress, who for nine years appeared on The Facts of Life with actress Lisa Whelchel, will now be appearing in a Hallmark movie with her former co-star.
Both Fields and Whelchel will star in For Better or For Worse, which debuts on July 19.
The romantic comedy casts the actresses as friends, with Whelchel playing the female lead.
Hallmark.com describes the movie:
“Opposites attract when Wendy (Lisa Whelchel), a wedding coordinator, and Marco (Antonio Cupo), a divorce attorney, find their lives suddenly intertwined. Wendy is finally settling into the single life after struggling with the death of her husband. After a difficult season of grief, she’s taken over the family business of coordinating the town’s most beautiful and memorable weddings with the help of her friend and co-worker Roseanne (Kim Fields).”
For Kim Fields, this will be her first acting work since 2012, when she played Joan in the television movie A Cross to Bear. She has taken projects sparingly, including a handful of television and movie appearances in the past decade.
But Kim has been busy in other areas of entertainment industry. She has directed more than 70 episodes of television programs, including TV One’s The Rickey Smiley Show, Nickelodeon’s Kenan & Kel, and Fox’s Living Single. She also directed two of Tyler Perry’s TBS series, Meet The Browns and House of Payne.
The reunion with Kim Fields isn’t the first time Lisa Whelchel has gotten back with a Facts of Life co-star recently. Last month she posted a selfie with Charlotte Rae, who played the kind-hearted Mrs. Garrett on the popular sitcom.
The ladies were seem smiling in the photo, which Whelchel posted on her Instagram page.
“Selfie with Charlotte Rae today at lunch,” Whelchel wrote. “She gave me some good advice.”
The cast of the popular sitcom has remained fairly close in recent years. Both Kim Fields and Lisa Whelchel also appeared in a 2001 television movie, The Facts of Life Reunion.
