Jessica Simpson Wedding: 300,000 Paid By People Magazine For Simpson Wedding Photos?
Jessica Simpson reportedly sold her wedding photos for $300,000 to People Magazine. According to The New York Daily News, the magazine paid for exclusive photos, which they have published in the new issue of their mag — a wedding album of sorts. Simpson married her longtime beau, Eric Johnson, on July 5 at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California. The magazine reportedly told wedding guests that they weren’t allowed to take photos of the couple’s nuptials in order to keep pics off of social media.
An insider shared:
“They didn’t want any photos to come out before they run Wednesday.”
While Jessica Simpson’s wedding photos fetched $300,000, other A-listers have received big money for the rights to photos from their weddings. Kim Kardashian (and Kris Humphries) and Drew Barrymore also received fairly large paydays for their wedding pictures. According to the report, Simpson and Johnson could have received upwards of $600,000, but they weren’t really interested in any kind of bidding war. They took the offer from People right away and never looked back.
There was a bit of speculation about the People Magazine cover in regard to whether or not Simpson would appear with her new husband. Since Eric is less famous, there was a chance that the mag could have gone with a solo shot of Jess — but they did not. The cover, released on Wednesday, features Simpson looking at the camera while getting a sweet kiss on the cheek from her man.

In the photo, you can partially see Jessica Simpson’s custom Carolina Herrera gown. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Simpson helped design the dress which was strapless and champagne and gold in color.
The newlyweds released the following statement following their nuptials:
“We are overwhelmed with a complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment. To say ‘I do’ in front of family, friends and, most importantly our children, has been the happiest moment in our lives.”
Jessica Simpson’s wedding photos might not be worth $300,000, but people will be buying People Magazine just to see the pics and read the inside corresponding article, so the mag will undoubtedly get their money back. It is unknown whether Jessica and Eric decided to pocket the money or donate it to charity — something that a lot of celebs tend to do with income of this nature.
