Tyra Banks’ Farcical Future Beauty Trend Predictions (Video)

It would seem that maybe Tyra Banks has had her hair pulled back too tight one time too many. Or maybe Tyra has inhaled too many hair products over the years. Either way, her response to Wall Street Journal on Monday makes us wonder.

Wall Street Journal asked several celebrities to predict what changes may take place in the future of their particular industry. For example, Mark Zuckerberg discusses how today only a little more than one-third of the world is connected via internet. Zuckerberg continues to elaborate with Wall Street Journal on how connecting everyone is the ultimate challenge and describes what a world where everyone is connected would look like.

When Wall Street Journal asked Taylor Swift about the future of the music industry, she talked about music being an art, and having a value. Taylor revealed her thoughts on how fans will play an even larger role in an artists career, and she believes that artists will get record deals based on their number of fans, the number of Twitter followers they have. And Taylor elaborated on genres of music and how that will become “gray” as multiple musical influences are evident in every style of music.

Now, we move to Tyra Banks. As we read other celebrities thoughts, such as Zuckerberg and Swift, they seem somewhat logical. Tyra, on the other hand. Well, you decide for yourself.

Tyra Banks was asked about the future of the beauty industry. Tyra laid out ten different ideas of where she thinks the future of beauty is heading. Let’s just look at a few highlights without delving into the entire outlandish details.

Banks gives hope to all women who want long hair but can’t seem to get it. Toss your hair extensions out the window. Tyra predicts a serum that you place on your scalp and your hair will miraculously grow in 24 hours. It will also become thicker, and the popular style choice will be curly.

Trya tells Wall Street Journal that women will be able to decide when they want to have a baby (We can pretty much do that now, right?) but, here’s the clincher, women will be able to have babies at the age of 120. How long does Trya think people will be living in the future?

But she goes on to say that when women have these babies, they will be able to select their baby’s features as easy as “selecting a menu item at a fast-food drive-through window.” What???!!! Tyra goes even further to say that the color brown will be the optimal color choice for eyes.

Everyone will also have a personal robot that will sense when we are having a bad day and alert us with such compliments as “Wow, your eyes look especially lovely today!” Tyra tells Wall Street Journal. That seems a little freaky. Sounds eerily similar to Will Smith’s I, Robot film.

Banks says that, “Plastic surgery will be as easy and quick as going to the drugstore for Tylenol,” per Time.com, but for those who choose not to go the route of plastic surgery will have access to what she calls “beauty ingestibles” that will give instant contoured cheekbones, arched eyebrows, rosy cheeks (isn’t that what blush is for?”). But Tyra says they will only last temporarily and will have to be used repeatedly. Oh, boy.

What gets even more interesting, is how Tyra says, “Skin color and features will mesh into a similar shade for the majority of people. Typical features and coloring will lean toward a Rihanna or Beyoncé or me kind of look,” per Elle.com. Tyra also says, “curvy bodies will be the aspirational beauty standard.” And that men will be “vying for women’s attention and obsessed with being attractive to women,” per Wall Street Journal. Am I wrong, but don’t men already want women’s attention?

So, let’s think about this for a moment. Basically, Tyra Banks’ idea of beauty in the future embodies a darker skin color, curvacious figures, curly long, thick hair, and brown eyes. Does this sound vaguely familiar? We will all look like Tyra Banks! Get ready, folks. We will all look like this video below.
