Youtube Nation Presents Eight Handmade Stop-Motion Masterpieces! [VIDEO]

When it comes to finding the best films on Youtube, it is a dauntless task given to the people behind the Youtube Nation channel. It is because of them that gems such as Rachel Lust’s hula-hoop “groove” video were discovered. They are also responsible for the list of the most popular Youtube videos, in which we like to report some of the more interesting ones here on The Inquisitr.

Now, Youtube Nation uploaded a video which is their bread and butter but also quite interesting: eight of the most popular stop-motion masterpieces on the website! Published on July 5, 2014, the video already has over 1.5 million views and still climbing. I guess people want to see what the most popular videos, directed in the style of Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas are right?

For those who have no idea what stop-motion is, it’s a form of animation in which a single picture is taken with a camera. Then a little bit of movement is applied to the scene, either it be a character walking, background changing, or a face talking, then another picture is taken. All the pictures are then spliced together to look as if the still-life items are actually moving. Think of the old Christmas classic, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. That movie was made with the same form of directing that are utilized in the eight masterpieces featured in this video.

What’s cool is some of the most prominent Youtube stars are featured in this video. This includes Rhett & Link, who also made an appearance in the Youtube Complaints of 2014 video which we reported on earlier this year. They had to use over 200 different shirts for their video T-Shirt Wars. Rising singing star, Kina Grannis, also made the list for the official music video for her song In Your Arms. She used 288,000 jelly beans for her video.
