Ashton Kutcher Sells Reality TV Show About DMV

Hot off the filming of new episodes for Two and a Half Men actor and producer Ashton Kutcher has sold a reality TV show about the California Department of Motor Vehicles.

TruTV picked up the show which will go behind-the-scenes to hopefully show why DMV workers are grumpy 24/7.

The show will be produced by Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg (CEO of Katalyst films which produced Punk’d, Beauty and the Geek).

Speaking to EW.com Goldberg said of the show:

“We’ve all spent time at the DMV, but few people know what it’s like to work for the DMV.”

He went on to note:

California DMV: Field Offices promise to be a glimpse at what DMV workers experience, from strange to hilarious.”

DMV locations around the country are often met with angry customers who can wait hours in line only to be told to go and stand in another equally long line, it will be interesting to see why those long waits exist and find out exactly what has been ticking off DMV works for decades.

At this time the show has been given a four-episode commitment, although no premiere date has been set. The show will be set in various DMV locations throughout California.

Ashton Kutcher is no stranger to reality TV programming, Punk’d helped usher in the concept to a new generation, it will be interesting however to see if he can take the DMV and turn it into an engaging show. I’m addicted to Parking Wars so I’m sure this new show will be a hit…at least in my mind.
