Kevin Hart And Ice Cube’s ‘Ride Along 2’ Picks Up More Talent

Kevin Hart is on a roll right now, and one of his most recent hits is being given the green light for a sequel. That’s right, the comedian and his co-star Ice Cube are gearing up for Ride Along 2.

This time around, however, they’re stacking the movie so it won’t just be relying on the two for the laughs.

Deadline reports that Ken Jeong from the Hangover movies, as well as NBC’s Community, which was given a second life by Yahoo, is going to put his comedic skills to the test for the sequel. Jeong has also recently done work on Despicable Me 2, Turbo, and just finished working on The DUFF. It has not been revealed what his part will be.

Another star who is in talks for the sequel is Olivia Munn, according to Variety. While she may have been in the news more recently for her current relationship with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, she’s been pretty busy over the last handful of years. After leaving G4’s Attack of the Show, she did a stint on The Daily Show as a correspondent, was in the Channing Tatum-starring Magic Mike, and was part of Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom television series.

As for the plot of the sequel itself, not too much has been revealed. The only thing Variety could reveal was that Hart and Cube’s characters go to Miami “for fun, chaos and shenanigans,” and the expected release date is January 15, 2016.

Meanwhile, Hart has a lot of work ahead of him. In addition to going into production for the sequel soon, he also just finished work on the comedy, Get Hard, with Will Ferrell. He also has a string of movies coming out soon, including The Wedding Ringer, Finally Famous, and Who Shot The Sheriff?.

In addition to his movie work, Hart’s also celebrating another milestone: his 35th birthday is today. Those who follow him on Twitter got constant reminders from him (some with explicit language).

Kevin Hart can currently be seen in theaters in Think Like a Man Too.
