New Modern Warfare 3 video shows off Spec Ops ‘Survival’ mode

Activision has been keeping relatively quiet about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 over the past month, but now that the highly anticipated title is nearing release – that, and Gamescom is coming up – Activision is ready to show off some more spec ops mode gameplay.

Specifically, the video shows off the co-op survival mode which, as the name suggests, has you and your pals attempting to survive wave after wave of baddies. In other words, the video shows off Modern Warfare 3‘s interpretation of Horde mode.

It’s not multiplayer footage – we’ll have to wait until Call of Duty XP on September 2 to see that – but it’s still a fun video that has me interested in trying out the mode for myself. I’ve played Horde gametypes across several games to death at this point, but Modern Warfare 3‘s looks interesting enough to at least give a spin.
