British Tourist In Magaluf On Video In Sex Act With 24 Men For Free Drink, Mayor Wants Inquiry

A shocking video hit the internet Thursday, showing a young, female British tourist in the Spanish resort town of Magaluf performing a specific sex act on 24 men in two minutes, reportedly as part of a competition to win a free drink valued at four bucks.

Magaluf is a vacation spot known for its over-the-top party culture, with young tourists from the United Kingdom filling the town’s bars and clubs around the clock throughout each summer, and with binge drinking and other forms of debauchery a constant occurrence. But the phenomenon depicted in the video, known as “mamading,” has hit a new low even for Magaluf, as Twitter and Facebook users reacted with and disgust and disillusionment as the video went viral.

When the video began to draw attention online, first reposted by the site Vice, the site where it was originally posted quickly removed it. The explicit nature of the video would presumably prevent YouTube from allowing it.

Text accompanying the original post of the video, from a user with the name Pajar Racos, read: “The area continues to invent ways to attract more and more young and this year has introduced a new trend in the local bars. It is ‘mamading,’ a practice that leads women into a contest in which they perform sex acts on the men in the bar in minimal time.”

“Mamada” is a slang Spanish term for the particular sexual act the woman in the video is said to be seen performing repeatedly on two dozen men around a dance floor, as a DJ cheers her on.

Magaluf Mayor Manuel Onieva, saying that he “completely rejects” the apparent new tourist trend, has called for a police investigation into the incident captured on the video. He also issued a statement reminding the many bars in Magaluf that flourish in the British tourist trade that if they encourage or sponsor “mamading” events like the one in the viral video, they are breaking the law and could be closed down.

While initial reactions online expressed revulsion at the young woman — one user summing up the reactions by calling the woman “vile” and “seriously needs her head looking at” while another called her a “disgrace and insisted, “Morals and self respect should be taught from a Young age” — others asked why the 24 men who receive the sex act from the woman are not held accountable in the same way.

“Shame on the girl, f*** off,” wrote Twitter user Melissa Mannion. “No shame for those men for taking part? Or shame on the bar for allowing it happen?”

According to Britain’s Mirror newspaper, the serial sex act caught on video was part of an organized bar crawl, in which promoters take hundreds of young British revelers on an alcohol-soaked tour of Magaluf’s drinking spots. The competition among bars for tourist business can be cutthroat, and organized sex games, the Mirror reports, are often used by bars to keep young people inside and drinking.
