Grilling recipes: Ideas For Blended Intercultural Families

Grilling recipes: Yes, it’s that time of year again. And in a blended, interracial and intercultural Black and Mexican family like mine, it is important to choose grilling recipes that will please the taste buds of everyone involved.

According to Here And Now, this list of grilling recipes do well whether it is for the Fourth of July, Cinco de Mayo or any other time. These flavor-filled grilling recipes blend a menu of Soul Food, Mexican and American recipes all into one.

For the Mexican or Hispanic/Latino husband it will be: carne asada, grilled hot dogs and beans. The hot dogs and beans grilling recipe is similar in taste to the recipe “frijole ranchero.”

In addition, a pork steak and corn grilling recipe, as well as some soul food recipes, such as sausage and cabbage stir fry, potato salad and pineapple-vinegar pork chops are also a delightful addition to the menu. Here is a highlight of some tasty grilling recipes.

Grilling recipe #1: Now, this is an amazing Mexican or Latin recipe involving beef cuts or beef steaks. It’s a good idea to marinate the beef in a Puerto Rican or Cuban marinade called “Mojo Criollo.” The “Mojo Criollo” is a wonderful grilling marinade made up of delicious spices that include: garlic, onion and a citrus flavor made from orange juice. Many people decide to make their own, but it is much more convenient and much less expensive to buy it in the store. A good brand to use is Goya. After marinating the beef for several hours—or even overnight—-if possible, season the beef with only the best Latin spices, such as Badia’s Sazon Tropical or Badia’s adobe seasoning. All of the Latino cooks say it is best to massage the seasonings into the grooves of the meat. Cook the beef well done, add your favorite salsa and cook until tender. Pair the Carne Asada with pico de gallo. If beef doesn’t work, one can substitute shrimp, according to Parade Magazine.

Grilling recipe #2: The next grilling recipe is pork steak and corn. You’ll fry the actual pork steaks on the grill, along with white or yellow kernel corn. In the skillet, which will be on top of your grill, add oil, onions and jalapeño peppers. Season the dish with the Latin spices used in grilling recipe #1.

Grilling recipe #3: For this grilling recipe, you’ll be cooking pineapple and vinegar pork chops. For this scrumptious recipe use only center cut. Marinate your pork chops in pineapple juice and vinegar. After placing the chops on the grill, add onions and green bell peppers on top. The grilled flavor makes these chops taste superb.

Grilling recipe #4: As a side dish to go with the chops, cook hot dogs and pork and beans in a black skillet on the grill. Let the smoke flavor really penetrate the dish. In the black skillet, add oil, onions, chile peppers, chopped hot dogs or sausage, and let the flavors from the meat coat the entire skillet. Then slowly add in your pork and beans or black beans. Cover the top.

Because you will be using foreign or ethnic spices, your recipes will taste unique and authentic. Yum! No doubt you will be the talk of the town at your next grilling party.
