Righteous Young Lady Busts Her Very Unrighteous, Pot-Smoking Parents

The notion of pot-smoking parents bothers a lot of people, including a 9-year-old lass from Minnesota who expected much better from Mama and Papa! This unidentified young lady bravely waltzed into the Barnesville Police Department and informed the officers that her very naughty pot-smoking parents were growing, selling and smoking pot, reports the Star Tribune.

According to Officer Ryan Beattie, the officers then searched the young lady’s home and discovered not only seven marijuana plants and plenty of drug paraphernalia, but even methamphetamine! Unbelievable, right? This in a home containing a child! She is currently staying with her parents as the police complete the investigation.

So why did she “snitch” on her pot-smoking parents? The rank odor of the pot was making her sick. While we understand that some people (namely those who now think it appropriate to refer to her, a child, as a “snitch”) believe marijuana should be legalized, keep in mind that the home also contained methamphetamine — a highly addicted drug associated with brain damage and schizophrenia, among others.

Also keep in mind the risks that parents inadvertently impose on their children when they bring pot into their home. Just last week, for example, a 7-year-old girl from Colorado had to be rushed to the emergency room after she accidentally ate some marijuana candy that her mother apparently thought okay to bring home.

Plus, according to a study cited in Medical News Today, the children of parents who engage in inappropriate behavior like smoking and selling pot “are more likely to smoke, binge drink, or use marijuana in adolescence and adulthood.”

Regardless, this is what Officer Beattie had to say about the supposed “snitch”:

“She was a very brave, very smart, very articulate little girl. It was almost like interviewing an adult. She appeared to have intelligence far above a normal little girl … [and] she gave some pretty specific information about things, like types of drug paraphernalia, that no young person ought to have knowledge about.”

We definitely agree that she is a very smart and very articulate young lady, because seriously, who wants to be raised by a bunch of stoned pot smokers?
