Elton John Says Jesus Is Gay!! (Video)
Elton John has started the Fourth of July fireworks a bit early with his comments that he believes Jesus was gay. Whaaat? Elton John is on the cover of this week’s Parade Magazine. During Elton’s interview with Parade Magazine, he opened up about his thoughts and feelings on being gay and gay marriage.
So, how did Jesus get involved in Elton’s opinions and beliefs? Sir Elton John stated, “I think Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man who understood human problems. On the cross, He forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving.” Elton continues,” I don’t know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East — you’re as good as dead.”
Is Elton stating that because Jesus was kind and compassionate that those attributes made him gay? Cenk Uygur of the Young Turks believe that gay men do not have the market on kindness and compassion. Uygur puts it out there when he bluntly says Elton John’s quote is wrong on eighteen different levels.
Uygur goes on to say, “First of all, I love how everybody wants Jesus to be what they are. So, if you’re black, Jesus is black. If you’re white, Jesus is white. He’s blonde and blue-eyed. How that makes sense, I don’t know, right? None of it makes any sense. And now since Elton John is gay, all of a sudden Jesus is gay…based on what? His (Elton’s) evidence was he was a kind and caring man?…..it was an absolute absurd statement.” Wow…how dauntless, yet rather observant and clear-cut.
Also, according to Elton John, Jesus understood human problems. To Christians, of course He did. He is the Son of God who created mankind. He would most certainly understand man’s problems.
In a separate interview with Sky News, Elton John continues his claims about Jesus and homosexuality in the church and the clergy. Elton said that gay clergy should be allowed to get married and Elton suggested that the celibacy vow for Catholic priests be abolished. WHAT? Isn’t that what the Catholic priests chose for their lives? A life of celibacy and to devote their lives to God? Watch out for lightening strikes on that one! But wait, Elton’s not done yet.
Elton says these beliefs and practices in the church are “old and stupid things.” Yes, he did say that! Elton John also stated, “If Jesus Christ was alive today, I cannot see him, as the Christian person that He was and the great person that He was, saying this could not happen. He (Jesus) was all about love and compassion and forgiveness and trying to bring people together. And that is what the Church should be about.”
Clearly, Elton needs to understand that Jesus is not only a great Christian person, He is Jesus Christ. Note the “Christ” part in “Christian”. He IS the Christ, not a follower of the Christian belief. Elton should also understand that according to the Bible, Christ is alive today. News alert, Jesus arose on the third day after the crucifixion. He is alive, Elton, according to the Bible and the Christian faith.
Christians who have studied and know their Bibles have a clear understanding and knowledge of Jesus’ stance on homosexuality, marriage, love, compassion, sin, and forgiveness. And with the realization of these things, if Christians believe their Bibles, know that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever according to Hebrews 13:8, and that means Jesus doesn’t change His stance on things just because society does.
Cenk Uygur compares religion today to an open buffet. People tend to pick and choose what they like and don’t like and live their lives accordingly. Hence, the absurd accusations made by Elton John about Jesus.
