Girl, 7, Sprayed With Poisonous Weed Killer In The Face By Woman Neighbors Often Disputed With

A girl, 7, was sprayed with poisonous weed killer in the face by a woman neighbors were often disputing with. The Smoking Gun reports that 60-year-old Julie Rodenhuis was arrested Wednesday evening on three felony charges for spraying the unidentified victim. The girl and the woman lived in the same condominium complex.

According to the report, Rodenhuis had a rocky relationship with her neighbors. Commander John Peters tells TSG:

“[Julie Rodenhuis] has been involved in several neighborhood disputes in the past and this appears to be a continuation.”

Police were dispatched to the residence after receiving a call about an alleged assault against a child. The incident happened in Grover Beach, a coastal community about 90 miles north of Santa Barbara. Family helped the 7-year-old girl before she was treated by emergency personnel at the scene before being sent to the hospital. The girl was later released after getting treatment for the poisonous spray.

Rodenhuis is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, battery with serious injury, and child endangerment. She’s currently held at San Luis Obispo County Jail with $100,000 bond.

What was the motive behind the girl being sprayed with the weed killer by the woman? According to Digital Journal, children have been afraid to play outside since Julie Rodenhuis moved into the complex four years ago. Neighbors have complained to the homeowners association about getting the woman thrown out of there. It’s believed that the 60-year-old allegedly sprayed the pesticide in the girl’s face because the girl had sprayed water on her while at the pool.

Commander John Peters also tells the San Luis Obispo Tribune that the girl is expected to make a full recovery.

Having neighbors that are difficult to get along with make the news when the circumstances get bad enough. Another incident of a nightmarish neighbor had to do with a 62-year-old woman hiring a bulldozing company to demolish her neighbors’ house because she didn’t like them or their house.

It’s not revealed what kind of legal punishment Julie Rodenhuis will get if a judge finds her guilty in the three felony charges. Her neighbors in the condominium complex evidently don’t have to worry about giving good reasons for why the homeowner’s association should evict her. Her arrest for allegedly spraying the girl with poisonous weed killer and being booked on serious charges will keep her away a while!
