Real Life Zombie: 23-Year-Old German Body Artist Reveals Bizarre Piercings, Flesh Tunnels In Cheeks
Everyone’s seen their fair share of outrageous piercings and tattoos. However, one German body artist is turning heads all over the world with his bizarre body art.
According to the Daily Mail, 23-year-old body artist Joel Miggler doesn’t have usual ear, navel and nose piercings people typically have. He’s taken things a step further. Miggler has opted for a look that actually resembles that of a zombie. He’s drilled giant holes on each sides of his face. The holes in his cheeks are so large that his teeth and gums are visible through his face. He explained that he normally wears plugs to eat. However, things can get a bit messy when he opts to consume something liquefied and forgets to put his plugs in.
Miggler has had a deep affirmation for body art and piercing since he received his first one at age 13. He currently has 25 piercings that vary in shape and size, along with an array of tattoos. He also weighed in with his perspective of body art sharing a number of gruesome details about his piercings.
“There is not one person or one thing that inspired me, I just enjoy playing with my body and blood. Having my cheeks pierced was not really painful, there was a local anesthetic involved in the procedure. My cheeks are currently 36 millimeter wide in diameter but my goal is to stretch them to 40 millimeters.”
Miggler’s jaw-dropping piercings have also been quite popular on social media platforms. The image of Miggler’s drilled holes has been circulating around Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Although his unconventional body art tends to stun strangers, he revealed that his mother is actually quite supportive of his body art. “My mother likes most of my modifications and she has supported my decision to look the way I do but she doesn’t think the more extreme things, like my cheeks, are very beautiful,” explained Miggler.
