Peter Dinklage Meets Doppleganger ‘Grumpy Cat?’

Game Of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is a fan favorite… and so is “Grumpy Cat,” an internet meme who barely requires any introduction.

Of course you know Peter Dinklage, the actor who portrays the swag-infused character of Tyrion Lannister on what is HBO’s biggest and most critically acclaimed show right now. (Game Of Thrones, of course.)

Grumpy Cat is equally world famous, for his consistently not amused expression. While the name may not ring any bells, it’s statistically unlikely you’ve used the internet or the social web with any level of regularity and not seen Grumpy Cat’s face captioned with all sorts of disapproving opinions from “nope” (to anything), to “good” (when some form of misfortune meets an ostensibly deserving party), to any variation on “I am proud of my own personal curmudgeonly stance on this particular issue.”

The internet worships cats and fandoms in equal measure, so this moment of Peter Dinklage meets Grumpy Cat is sort of like a Jetsons Meets The Flintstones for 2014. Oh yes, fandoms have been colliding since before you were born, and the phenomenon isn’t all that uncommon on the official (canon) level either — ask joint fans of Orange Is The New Black and the OMG COMING SOON book to TV this summer epic saga Outlander, because we totally got a shout-out in the prison library in season 2 of the former when Taystee reveals her Outlander fan status to BFF Poussey and roundly endorses the admittedly pretty freaking amazing book as worthwhile reading.

(As an aside, OMG, how hard would it be for Poussey to read Outlander and not cry after her broken-hearted backstory? There is no way she would be able to handle it like Taystee.)

So anyway. Peter Dinklage and Grumpy Cat.

However, the pic is rumbled in Imgur comments where the image is presented as at least by omission organic, when one user comments:

“Nice try. Did you deliberately over compress the JPG to hide the shop in the artifacts? That’s pro.”

And in the comment:

So, alas, Peter Dinklage and Grumpy Cat did not meet and take an epic selfie together, despite how cool it would have been and what Facebook said. This is just a shop gone accidentally viral.
