TD Boston Garden: ‘Mass Casualty’ Event Reported, Dozens Rushed To Hospital
The TD Boston Garden was the scene of what is being called a “mass casualty” event. According to Boston.com, dozens of people were rushed to nearby hospitals, all with minor injuries. Swedish DJ Avicii was performing at The Garden on Wednesday night when several ambulances were called to transport concert goers who were not feeling well. Preliminary messages suggest that drugs and/or alcohol were the root cause of most of these cases.
Officer on scene would only say lots of young kids, very hot inside. Witnesses describe dehydration, use of drugs & alcohol.

Ambulances raced to the TD Boston Garden, in what appeared to be a very frightening situation. It now appears as though teenagers either used bad drugs or drank too much alcohol and got sick. According to My Fox Boston, officials say that symptoms are ranging from vomiting to fainting. A mass group of people seem to be showcasing the same symptoms. Concert goers recall seeing “vomit everywhere.”
A witness inside the Garden said:
“We were actually in the general admission spot down closest to the Avicii stage. We saw around us people leaning on people, people falling over, I saw people getting carted out by medical staff.”
While there has not been an exact cause, authorities believe that the combination of drinking too much alcohol and not staying hydrated contributed to the problems.
Numbers from Avicii concert at TD Garden. 36 taken to hospital, 50 treated on scene. Boston EMS says dehydration & alcohol big reason.

There were also reports of people “jumping” into the Charles River and police searching the area. It’s unknown if that’s true. However, people are talking about it on Twitter, and there are a lot of tweets from witnesses and river jumpers alike.
Literally watching kids jump off a bridge into the Charles River after the Avicii concert… All from my window #boston #tdgarden #avicii
