Kate Middleton Changes Her Mind On Moving, Will Stay At Kensington Palace
Kate Middleton has apparently decided that Kensington Palace suits her just fine.
Just a few days after reports said that the Duchess of Cambridge wanted to leave the spacious apartment for a more family friendly setting outside of London, sources now say that she and Prince William will stay right where they are.
The report last week claimed that Kate wanted to raise her children in a more peaceful setting outside the hustle and bustle of London, and planned to move to Anmer Hall, a country home the couple shares at the Queen’s Sandringham estate.
But sources now say that the couple has decided to stay in the 21-room apartment as William becomes heir to the throne, which would put the current home of Prince Charles and Camilla Bowles, the Clarence House, in an uncertain situation.
“Kensington Palace will be the Duke and Duchess’s home for many years to come, including when he becomes Prince of Wales,” a senior royal aide told The UK’s Express. “I don’t think we know for sure what will happen to Clarence House but I think we’ve always said Buckingham Palace will remain the monarch’s residence.”
There may be a very good reason for Kate Middleton and Prince William to stay put. Financial records showed that the couple has spent just under $7 million to renovate their home.
While their home situation is set, the couple faces an uncertain future when it comes to Prince William’s profession. The Express noted that the royal, who turned 32, will be taking a job with the East Anglia Air Ambulance service, flying patients in a medical helicopter.The report noted:
Notoriously indecisive, he has decided to go back to flying less than a year after leaving his job as an RAF search and rescue helicopter pilot for what aides called a “transitional year”. Since he left the RAF in September, he has undertaken more royal duties, taken a course at Cambridge University and campaigned against wildlife poaching while thinking about how he could best serve the public.
But even with William’s job set, the couple still has tension in their London apartment. Sources say that Kate Middleton is buckling under the public pressure, and has even tried to stop people from photographing her on the street.
