Kim Kardashian And Family Help Celebrate Baby North’s First Birthday
Kim Kardashian wanted to celebrate daughter North West’s first birthday in a big way, and from what we’ve seen via social media, she pulled it off! Kardashian family and friends all gathered to celebrate Nori’s first birthday Kidchella style on Saturday, and it looks like it was one heck of a bash.
So what is a Kidchella celebration? According to the Huffington Post, a Kidchella is a Coachella for kids! That’s right! Kim and Kanye decided to model their baby girl’s first birthday celebration after California’s annual Coachella music festival.
Nori’s birthday celebration reportedly took place in Kourtney Kardashian’s huge backyard on Saturday. According to US Weekly, in keeping with the theme, guests had been asked to dress in typical festival attire, which had a wide variety of meaning for the Kardashian clan. Kylie reportedly dressed in a denim dress under a “guazy poncho” while sister Kendall wore floral-print shorts and a cropped gray t-shirt. Khloe Kardashian went all out and dressed in a traditional Native American headdress.
According to PEOPLE, a source close to the Kardashian clan claimed that Kim and Kanye wanted to go over the top for baby Nori and make sure it was a special day. “There were many fun activities for the kids,” the source told PEOPLE. “They had face painting and a stage for singing. All the kids had the best time.”
Along with the stage and face painting, the Kidchella celebration also featured colorful wristbands, an on-site Ferris wheel, teepees and food carts offering munchies such as churros and lemonade. Kris Jenner took to Instagram to post a few photos of the layout of the huge event.
While Kim Kardashian and all her friends and family seemed to enjoy the birthday celebration, some have been commenting on the celebration as a waste of time considering little Nori is so young and she may not remember it as she gets older. Khloe Kardashian was even bashed for her Native American outfit, some claiming that she was being “disrespectful” to the Native American culture. Check out some of these tweets from the public:
