Samuel L. Jackson’s Quest For A Tasty Burger In The U.K.

When Samuel L. Jackson visited London in the 1980s, he was having trouble finding a good “American hamburger,” according to a report from The Daily Telegraph. In fact, it was so bad that he wanted to “scream.”

“The food has gotten so much better since the 80s,” Jackson said. “When I first started coming here, I could scream.”

Jackson didn’t specify where he now gets a hamburger, when he visits London. But he said he didn’t “have to go to Wendy’s” to find one.

“Now, if I want an American hamburger, I know where to find one,” he added. “I don’t have to go to Wendy’s.”

Fans of Pulp Fiction may recall the famous scene in which Samuel L. Jackson’s character, Jules Winnfield, takes a bite out of Brett’s burger from Big Kahuna Burger, after he and Vincent Vega break into Brett’s apartment. Unfortunately, the restaurant in the Quentin Tarantino film is not a real place. But The Shortlist does offer a recipe that the website claims to be “the second best thing.”

Speaking of Pulp Fiction, the same scene in which Samuel L. Jackson takes a bite out of the burger is also the moment in which he gives his famous Ezekiel 25:17 speech. During an appearance last week on The Graham Norton Show, Jackson recited the speech without any missteps.

Take a look at both versions of the speech below. Warning: the Pulp Fiction scene is NSFW (not safe for work).

Samuel L. Jackson is currently in London for the filming of the Tarzan remake, according to a report from Contactmusic.com. As of right now, it’s undetermined who Jackson will be playing in the film, which is scheduled to be released in 2016. But there is a rumor going around that Jackson could be a Congolese warlord or Tarzan’s ex-mercenary sidekick, George Washington Williams.

Even though it’s undetermined who Jackson is playing, he mentioned that he is “sort of enjoying” his time in London.

“That will be my summer: spent in my air-conditioned, bug-free jungle in London,” Jackson added.

Tarzan is being directed David Yates, who helmed the last four Harry Potter films, according to the film’s IMDb page. Alexander Skarsgard will play the title role, and Margot Robbie has been cast as Jane. Christoph Waltz and Djimon Hounsou also star in the film.

In a related report from The Inquisitr, KTLA news anchor Sam Rubin accidentally mistook Samuel L. Jackson for Laurence Fishburne during an interview for RoboCop.

Rubin asked if the 65-year-old actor got “a lot of reaction to that Super Bowl commercial.” A confused Jackson thought Rubin was talking about the car commercial Fishburne had done, and that led to Jackson into a rant about how he’s “not Laurence Fishburne.”

Rubin later apologized to Jackson and the viewers, saying that he did not confuse the actor for Laurence Fishburne.
