Channing Tatum And Jimmy Fallon Play ‘Sup’ Game On ‘The Tonight Show’

Remember the Budweiser commercials with the frogs and their cheerful wassup greeting? Well, Jimmy Fallon, Channing Tatum, Ice Cube and Jonah Hill attempted to bring that back during a game of “Sup.”

Gathering in the green room of The Tonight Show, Jonah Hill and Jimmy Fallon greeted each other with a few “sup’s” before Hill’s 22 Jump Street co-star Tatum walked into the room with a “sup.” The three were joined by 22 Jump Street actor and rapper Ice Cube and a “sup” battle quickly commenced.

A play off of how “bros” greet each other, Jimmy Fallon, Ice Cube, Jonah Hill, and Channing Tatum “sup’d” it out for a bromantic good time. This is just one viral step in a long line of press junkets that Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are currently scheduled for to promote their sequel about sequels 22 Jump Street.

Another humorous guest appearance saw Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill on The Graham Norton Show alongside Julie Andrews. During the show, Channing and Graham Norton cracked jokes about how Julie Andrews and Jonah Hill are not-so-secretly married. The joke between Tatum, Hill, Andrews, and Norton ran for the entire segment.

Unfortunately, enduring long press junkets may result in a few flubs or at least one big one. During a profile in GQ, Tatum called himself a “high-functioning alcoholic” which spiraled into a PR nightmare and was later squashed by Channing.

At the time of the interview, Tatum said:

“I probably drink too much, you know. My wife, that’s what she bought into … I’m probably a pretty high-functioning, I guess, you know, I would say, alcoholic, I guess. There’s probably a tendency to escape. I equate it to creativity, and I definitely equate it to having a good time.”

After Tatum made that revelation, the actor took back his claim and said that alcoholism is “nothing to joke about.” Of the comment, Tatum explained to Access Hollywood:

“People love to say those pull quotes and everything. And if you read the article, I wasn’t saying that I’m an alcoholic. I’m saying [that] in between movies I drink to excess, I eat cupcakes to excess. I love cheeseburgers in excess and I’m indulgent. And, that’s it.”

Tatum confessed:

“But alcoholism is a very serious thing, so I wanna say that. And, I have people in my life that it affects, [who are] close to me, so it’s nothing to joke about.”

Channing’s busy schedule continues after the big box office success of 22 Jump Street. Although it’s still early to tell, Tatum will probably be gearing up for Oscar season with his film Fox Catcher. In addition, he will be prepping to play X-Men favorite Gambit.
