Wu-Tang Twins: Couple Names Twin Babies Raekwon And Ghostface After Wu-Tang Rappers

Apparently the Lieberman’s are fans of Wu-Tang Clan. According to Complex, a couple decided to name their twins after two members of the rap group. The newborn twin boys were named Raekwon and Ghostface, as evidenced on their actual birth certificates. Raekwon (the rapper) was actually the one to bring the news to the world’s attention. He shared a photo of the twins along with their birth certificates on Instagram on Sunday.

As you can see, the babies were still in the hospital at the time that the photo was taken. As Bustle points out, the babies are actually kind of lucky. Baby Ghostface didn’t take on the middle name “Killah” which is super — and everyone can probably live with the name Raekwon, so that’s cool. Also? These little guys are already famous… and they can’t even talk yet.

The Wu-Tang twins have been getting loads of attention on the internet since the real Raekwon tweeted about them. If you think about it, Raekwon and Ghostface are better choices than, say, Ol’ Dirty Bastard or Masta Killa. Other options included RZA, GZA, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, and U-God. No word on exactly why the Lieberman’s chose to go the route they did, but maybe they will get some additional media attention and those burning questions will actually be answered.

Naturally some people think that this is a joke and that there is no possible way that these children were named Raekwon and Ghostface — but who would go through all the trouble of creating “fake” birth certificates, just to get the attention of members of a popular 90s group? While you might think that naming a child after your favorite musician is awesome, the name Ghostface? Kind of isn’t so awesome.

No one actually thinks that Ghostface Killah’s name is actually “Ghostface,” do they? Just in case, the rapper’s actual moniker is Dennis Coles — and Dennis would have been a great alternative.

Twins have been in the news a lot lately. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, a couple in Missouri got to bring home their twin boys after they spent four months in the hospital. Those particular twins — who were born 39 days apart — were not named after Wu-Tang Clan members. Chances are Carl and David Cowan won’t be spending any time filling out paperwork to legally change their names in the future. You can’t really guarantee the same for Raekwon and Ghostface, but hey, you never know.

What do you think of the Wu-Tang twins’ names?
