Emma Stone Joining ‘The Gangster Squad’ Cast?

Actress Emma Stone, most known for her roles in Easy A and Zombieland, is reportedly in talks to star in “The Gangster Squad,” a Rubin Fleisher directed film slated to hit theaters in 2013.

If her deal goes through, Stone would play Jean, described by Variety as “a sharp-tongued siren caught in a love triangle” between a drug-dealing gangster and a good cop, played by Ryan Gosling, who Emma co-stars with in an another film scheduled to debut in theaters tomorrow – Crazy, Stupid, Love.

Other big names rumored to have parts in The Gangster Squad – a movie based on the 1940s cop drama chronicling the Los Angeles Police Department’s war on famed mobster Mickey Cohen and his fellow criminals – include Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Anthony Mackie and Michael Peña.

The ‘gangster squad’ part, though not yet officially confirmed, would make for an even busier summer for 22-year-old Stone, who, in addition to playing in Crazy, Stupid, Love, also stars in Tate Taylor’s The Help, which DreamWorks opens Aug. 10.
