Kim Kardashian, Kanye West Divorce: Power Couple Likely To Split Soon, Odds Say

A Kim Kardashian and Kanye West divorce — already? They were just married on May 24. But not only has speculation begun about a divorce that may be just around the corner for the celebrity power couple, but several statistics and other factors appear to indicate that a split between Kim and Kanye is inevitable.

The main reason celebrity watchers expect a quick Kim Kardashian and Kanye West divorce is a simple number. That number is 73. As in, 73 percent of people who have been divorced twice already also see their third marriage end in divorce.

Kim Kardashian, of course, has been divorced twice already, meaning that statistically, she has almost a three out of four chance of getting a divorce from Kanye West.

Now, if you’re rooting for “Kimye” to remain a couple ’til death do they part, you’re probably saying, “Sure, 73 percent get a third divorce, but that’s not Kim. She’ll do things differently this time. She’ll fall into the 27 percent of third marriages that do not get a divorce.”

But Kim has another problem. Her mother. Kris Jenner — formerly Kris Kardashian — got a divorce from Kim Kardashian’s father, O.J. Simpson lawyer Robert Kardashian, and is currently in the process of getting another divorce from former Olympic decathlete Bruce Jenner.

The hard, cold fact is, people who have a family member who has been divorced are 75 percent more likely to get a divorce than those who don’t. As if Kim’s mother experiencing divorce wasn’t enough, her sister Khloe recently got a divorce from Lamar Odom — another pro basketball player.

Those odds look bad for the Kim Kardashian and Kanye West marriage already, but add in the extra pressures placed on celebrity marriages, and well, we would never advise anyone to gamble. But if you were going to make a bet on a Kardashian-West divorce, you would probably win some money.

Intense scheduling demands, forcing celeb couples to spend long periods of time apart; egos, with celebs tending to be wrapped up in themselves and inattentive to partners; and temptation, which is more available to celebrities than non-celebrities — all are factors leading to celebrity divorce.

A realist must look at the facts. And the facts say that a divorce for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West is not a matter of “if” but “when.”
