World Cup 2014 Group C: One Of The Most Even And Difficult To Predict

Most of the groups in the 2014 World Cup have one or two very strong teams, however Group C is one of the most even, difficult to predict.

Colombia, Greece, Ivory Coast, and Japan make up Group C and not many can actually predict which two teams will be moving on to the round of 16.

The interesting thing about Group C is that none of the teams involved has a history in the World Cup and the four countries clashing represent four different continents, each with their own individual style.

The flashiest in Group C, without a doubt is Colombia and their Latin style of play, and also the favorite to move on to the next round in the World Cup.

Even though they lost one of their big stars, Falcao, to a torn ACL in January, they are still the undisputed favorite to move on.

Any of the countries in Group C will be making World Cup history as none has ever been past the first round.

Greece produces relatively decent players that belong to some of the biggest European clubs, however the Mediterranean nation comes to Group C with little to show for their football accomplishments. Their defensive style is not the most attractive or entertaining, but with a deadly counterattack they will keep their rivals on alert.

Out of all the African nations participating in the World Cup 2014, Ivory Coast is perhaps the one with the most talent, however, up until now, they have been unable to capitalize in international competition.

Their draw in Group C was kind to them and now they have their chance to prove their detractors wrong, with the best chance they will probably ever have to move to the next round in the World Cup.

Finally to Japan, one of the most exciting teams to watch in the World Cup. The Asian nation comes to Group C with the enormous pressure of being labeled the best team in the continent.

This will be Japan’s fifth consecutive World Cup and they certainly have the potential, especially as part of Group C, to make history moving to the round of 16.

Prediction: Colombia and Japan move on.
