Hulu in Apple’s Sights?

According to Bloomberg, Apple has its sights set on content streaming site Hulu and is in “early talks” to acquire the site in order to augment its video offerings.

Apple doesn’t have the drunken sailor spending ethos often seen with Google, but may offer $2 billion for online video streaming site Hulu, individuals who declined to be identified by press commented to the financial news source. Currently, the iTunes store allows for purchasing, and Hulu would “add a new element to their arsenal from a streaming and subscription standpoint,” according to one analyst consulted about the possible deal.

Another said Apple is focused on bringing streaming into the fold, and noted that in part, the “ecosystem of Apple’s future is to include more video.” Relevant parties at Hulu were mum when asked for comment on the possibility of a merger, and people at Apple had nothing to say thusfar about the deal.

Do you think a Hulu-Apple partnership would be beneficial for iTunes users? Would you consider watching more content through iTunes? Do you buy episodes and films through iTunes now?
