Emily Maynard Married: Bachelorette Star Holds Surprise Wedding With Tyler Johnson

Emily Maynard is a Bachelorette no more after the former reality show star walked down the aisle with Tyler Johnson in a surprise wedding ceremony.

The couple got married on Saturday in North Carolina. They told about 200 friends and family to come to Tyler’s farm for an engagement party, but the pair had actually been planning for the last three months to make the event their wedding.

“God brought us together. He’s given me such peace about everything. I’m so grateful I met him,” the former Bachelorette star told People magazine.

For the wedding, Emily Maynard a pale pink Modern Trousseau gown with cowboy boots. Her 8-year-old daughter Ricki served as the maid of honor.

“It’s just as much her day as it is mine because it’s a big change for her,” Maynard said. “She just adores Tyler and he is so good with her. He loves her as if she was his own daughter. It’s been so great to see their relationship grow.”

Maynard and Johnson moved along quickly in their relationship. After meeting in church, they went official last year and after only a few months Johnson popped the question at Emily’s home in North Carolina.

“We’re really excited,” Maynard said at the time. “He proposed to me at home and gave both Ricki [her 8-year-old daughter] and me rings. It was so sweet. Ricki loves him more than she likes me.”

It was only a few months before that Maynard was talking about how happy she was just being single.

“Right now, I am under no pressure to find a guy,” Maynard told the The Huffington Post. “I’m figuring it out on my own. But I will say this: When I do find him, this man will be the best, because he’ll be someone who adds something pretty spectacular to our lives.”

It had been a rough road for Maynard — her first love, NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick, died in a plane crash shortly after Emily got pregnant at 18. She later got engaged to Brad Womack in 2011, but the couple split.

Emily was also engaged to Jef Holm, splitting up in 2012.

“I’m figuring it out on my own,” Maynard said. “But I will say this: When I do find him, this man will be the best, because he’ll be someone who adds something pretty spectacular to our lives.”
