Rangers-Kings game 2 starts tonight at 7 pm Eastern Time (4 pm for those on the West Coast) and you can watch the game streaming online live for free by following the link at the bottom of this preview article.

Expect the Rangers-Kings game 2 to have al the energy of game 1 and more as both teams have star defensemen returning to their lineups. The Rangers get John Moore back and the Kings will have Robyn Regehr for the first time in 14 games, according to a Yahoo Sports report.

Regehr, who was out of the lineup for the Kings’ Stanley Cup championship two years ago and also missed an opportunity to win the Stanley Cup with the 2004 Calgary Flames, had this to say as he prepared to come back for tonight’s Rangers-Kings game 2:

“When you’re a younger player, you don’t fully understand the opportunity when you’re getting it. That was me 10 years ago. We had a pretty good team (in Calgary), and you think you’ll be around it for a while. Then we had the (2004-05) lockout, and when we came back, we weren’t there. Now that I’m back in this position, I know how rare it can be for a player to get this chance, and you don’t want to waste it.”

Los Angeles brings a 1-0 series lead into game 2 of the Rangers-Kings series after defeating New York in overtime on Wednesday. The New York Rangers will look to bring their A game tonight in hopes of stealing home ice advantage from the Kings, who have been tough on home ice.

For their part, the Rangers know they’re going to have to step things up if they’re going to have a shot at winning, both in the Rangers-Kings game 2 and in the series in general. According to a Yahoo Sports report, the Rangers Carl Hagelin had this to say about game 1:

“To be honest, I don’t think they had that many grade-A scoring chances in the third. They had a lot of puck-possession time. They had some shots. It wasn’t really a lot of good chances. I mean, we can’t look too much into shots.”

Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh had this to say:

“I think maybe we’re pressing, holding our sticks a little too much, too tightly. Looking for stuff that wasn’t there. We know if we get pucks in deep and get our forecheck going, that’s where we can generate offense. We were looking for a little bit too much on the rush, looking to carry it across and gain the zone a little bit too much.”
