Zac Efron Is In A ‘Great Place’ After Rehab

Zac Efron is feeling pretty good about his life and career after rehab.

The High School Musical alum shocked his fans when he sought professional treatment for his rumored addiction to drugs and alcohol. Now that he’s clean and sober, Efron firmly believes he’s back on the right track. According to Contactmusic, the actor discovered a few things about himself along the way.

The Neighbors star explained:

“I am so happy now and I feel like I am in a great place. It was an interesting year and I learnt so many things, but the best part of it was being able to reflect upon my experiences and what I had learnt about myself and the kind of man I want to be.”

KDrama Stars claims that Zac Efron was completely burned out after doing a string of movies back-to-back. Instead of taking some time off to get himself together, the actor began an unhealthy relationship with drugs and alcohol. However, Efron said that it wasn’t “one specific thing” that led to his stint in rehab.

Zac told The Hollywood Reporter that he felt Neighbors was the perfect project to get him back in the game. Considering the movie was a huge box office hit, it’s safe to say that Efron made the right choice.

“It’s kind of funny: ‘Neighbors’ is such a great icing on the cake for all of this. I was kind of able to channel all of that and put it back into this movie. I feel great. I feel really blessed to be here working with this group of guys. I couldn’t be better right now. I’m really excited,” the actor told THR.

Next up for Zac Efron is The Associate, an adaptation of author John Grisham’s 2009 legal thriller. Adrian Lyne, the man responsible for directing Fatal Attraction and Jacob’s Ladder, is reportedly tasked with bringing the film to life. Expect the movie to hit theaters at some point next year.

The Inquisitr previously reported that Efron recently met up with the boys and girls over at Marvel Studios to discuss an upcoming project. Although everyone seems to have a theory about the flick — the rumors range from Daredevil to Doctor Strange — nobody knows what Efron and Marvel are cooking up at the moment. Your guess is as good as anyone’s at this point.

Are you glad that Zac Efron is clean, sober, and ready to get his career back on the right track? What did you think about his performance in Neighbors?
