Four more characters added to the Street Fighter X Tekken roster

San Diego Comic Con is going ahead full steam, and Capcom has let out a number of exciting announcements for all of you fighting game fans out there. We had a Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition release date, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 was announced, and now Capcom has revealed four new characters for their new crossover franchise, Street Fighter X Tekken.

On the Tekken side of the roster, Capcom confirmed that Tekken series mainstay Yoshimitsu will be joining the cast alongside Steve Fox. On Capcom’s end, Dhalsim and Poison will be joining the fray, the latter of which you may recall from Final Fight and her special guest appearance in Street Fighter III. If you don’t recognize the former, well, you’ve probably never played a Street Fighter game before. Shame on you!

The four new characters brings the total confirmed characters for Street Fighter X Tekken up to a modest 18. Tekken‘s current cast is composed of Kazuya, Nina, King, Craig, Bob, Julia, Hwoarang, Steve and Yoshimitsu, while Capcom’s cast is made up of Ryu, Chun-Li, Ken, Guile, Abel, Cammy, Sagat, Dhalsim and Poison. Capcom’s previous statements put the game’s final roster at around 30, so expect plenty more character announcements ahead of Street Fighter X Tekken‘s release in 2012.

In addition to those four reveals, Capcom released a cinematic trailer that suggests Final Fight and Street Fighter Alpha veterans Cody, Guy and Mike Haggar will be joining the cast as well. You can find said trailer below.
