Staind Singer Aaron Lewis Rips Audience, And You’ll Be Glad He Did

Staind lead singer Aaron Lewis went off on a group of audience members at a recent music festival in Kansas, and after hearing why, we’re glad he did.

(Hat tip to Metro UK for bringing this one to our attention.)

While performing, Lewis stopped in mid-song after noticing something horrible. Fans in the audience were actually molesting a crowdsurfing girl. This is what he said (bear with us as we wail on the [expletive] tag):

“That [expletive] girl right there is, like, 15 [expletive] years old and you [expletive] pieces of [expletive] are molesting her while she’s on the [expletive] crowd. Your [expletive] mothers should be ashamed of themselves, you [expletive] pieces of [expletive]. If I [expletive] see that [expletive] again, I swear to God, I will point you out in the crowd and have everyone around you beat your [expletive] [expletive].”

If you’re in a NSFW kind of mood, then here’s the actual tirade in its full glory. WARNING: Graphic language.

After seeing that, we would NOT want to cross the Staind front man for any reason whatsoever. Of course, to be fair, that’s a pretty heinous thing to witness, so his outburst may not be a true representation of temperament.

It’s definitely won Lewis and the band some new fans as well as the respect from people who claim not to even like their brand of nu-metal music.

Thus far, the YouTube upload has amassed more than 1.1 million views and 432 comments, along with a wave of support.

GY6Vids wrote: “Good for you, Aaron Lewis! It [sic] about time we have someone stand up against injustice! You clearly have passion about what is right and wrong… things like this need to be said to the true SCUM of this world! ‘MERICA!!!”

Melanie Vonfange commented: “Mad Props to Aaron Lewis. I was a big fan back when I was a teenager, and now I think I am gonna get my cds out again and definitely putting Staind back into rotation. Good on you, man. GOOD ON YOU.”

Raffi: “More bands need to stand up like this about the [expletive] things that happen in the crowd, instead of encouraging it or ignoring it.”

And yzzy iz: “I just became a huge fan :-)… glad to see someone take a stand… but at the same time slightly disappointed that he didn’t go ahead and point out who the a$$holes were so they could be taken care of…”

To be fair, it appears as if the Staind front man was taken off-guard by the level of debauchery, and the incident happened far enough away where it’s possible he saw the action but not the actual perpetrators.

Did you just become a Staind fan?
