Lil Boosie Charged With Smuggling Drugs in Jail

Purple drank.

Okay, got that out of your system? Lil Boosie apparently doesn’t. The Louisiana rapper, who has been convicted of and charged with several crimes related to drugs and murder since 2008 and incarcerated since 2009, has gotten in even more trouble for a second drug-smuggling incident in jail. Boosie- real name Torrence Hatch- has been indicted on charges he attempted again to get codeine syrup into Angola State Prison in Louisiana, even as he is set to stand trial for first degree murder:

The arresting officers claim that Boosie was working with two local men – Titus Franklin and Arthur Stewart – to get codeine into the prison. Both men were indicted alongside Boosie, who was indicted on “one count of criminal conspiracy to take contraband to and from a penal institution and another count of inciting a felony. The penalties could add an additional two to four years to Boosie’s sentence.

Boosie’s involvement in the murder of Terry Boyd could just be the tip of the iceberg, as he is suspected of paying a 16-year-old boy to shoot 16-year-old Christopher ‘Nussie’ Jackson. Prosecutors may seek the death penalty on the initial first-degree murder charge.
