Charlie Sheen Adapting Adam Sandler Movie For New TV Series

Charlie Sheen could return to our cable boxes in 2012, taking on a role in a new TV series based on the Adam Sandler / Jack Nicholson hit movie Anger Management.

According to Sheen he won’t be taking on the role of Adam Sandler, but would instead play Jack Nicholson’s character, an eccentric Anger Management coach who helps his patient deal with some anger issues that are largely manufactured by the management coach, all in the hopes of helping him with his relationship.

Sheen told E!:

“I chose Anger Management because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger-management issues, I think it is a great concept. It also provides me with real ownership in the series, a certain amount of creative control and the chance to be back in business with one of my favorite movie producers of all time, Joe Roth.”

Sheen and Roth, who have worked on five movies together are working with Lionsgate to produce the show with a pilot expected sometime in 2012.

According to Roth:

“Who better than Charlie Sheen to tackle Anger Management. With Charlie’s incredible talent and comedic gifts, he remains the leading man of TV sitcoms. I’m excited to collaborate with him once again.”

Would you watch Charlie Sheen play an anger management counselor?
