Lady Gaga Shuts Down Lip Syncers

Lady Gaga isn’t a fan of people who lip sync during their concerts.

Although there are a fair number of artists out there who use pre-recorded performances to do all the heavy lifting, apparently Mother Monster isn’t one of them. In fact, Lady Gaga doesn’t think too highly of people who feel the need to fake out their fans when they’re paying top dollar to see them do their thing onstage. This makes us wonder why she bothered to take in Britney Spears’ Las Vegas show not too long ago.

How do we know that Lady Gaga hates the art of lip-syncing? She recently discussed the matter with the folks at Extra. In short: The “Poker Face” singer believes it’s a shady practice, one she’ll never use during her concerts.

Here’s what she had to say about the situation:

“I don’t think it’s cool to lip sync. I’m not judging if people do because it’s everybody’s own style of what they decided the type of artist they will be. I think if you pay money for a ticket to see a show that the artist should f***in’ have some pipes and sing their records for you.”

IBN Live points out that Lady Gaga adores performing for her fans, which is why you’ll never catch her slacking off during her shows. Of course, as soon as she does, people will quickly toss this quote right back in her face.

“The best part of my day is when I’m on stage performing for the fans, I really love ‘ARTPOP’ so to perform it live, see them singing, dancing is like the best thing ever,” Gaga explained.

This isn’t the first time the singer has taken issue with artists who don’t have a problem lip syncing their way through concerts. Back in 2011, Lady Gaga took a moment during one of her shows to call someone out.

“I never lip sync. I never have lip synced and I never will. And as long as you’re paying money to buy a ticket to see my show, I’m not going to waste your g*****n time watching some b***h lip sync her way through an HBO special,” she boldly declared.

Here’s the plot twist: According to the folks at Page Six, Lady Gaga was allegedly caught lip syncing 20 days after she took issue with a certain artist who doesn’t perform her songs live. Although, what occurs in the clip is up for debate — check out the YouTube comments if you’re at all curious — some believe Mother Monster is nothing more than a hypocrite. What do you think?
