Blackhawks vs. Kings game 4 begins at 9 P.M. Eastern Time (that’s 8 P.M. for those watching from Chicago and 6 P.M. for fans in Los Angeles). Los Angeles takes a 2-1 series lead into game 4 of the Kings vs. Blackhawks series. Game 4 will be at the Staples Center in LA before the Blackhawks vs. Kings series heads back to Chicago.

As a side note, there has been some concern that Slash, the legendary guitarist of Guns ‘N Roses, may have been inadvertently disrespectful during his rendition of the National Anthem before game 3 of the Kings vs. Blackhawks series. Check out this article about it on the Inquisitr and let us know what you think.

LA coach Darryl Sutter was careful not to take the Kings’ series lead for granted. According to a Yahoo! Sports report, he had this to say headed into game three in LA:

“We’re playing the Stanley Cup champion. If you go into every game thinking it’s an elimination game, that’s a good way of doing it. That’s what we’ll do again, and when it’s over, it’ll be over, and we’ll get ready for the next elimination game. It’s not as complicated as it seems.”

For their part, the Chicago Blackhawks know that they need to step up their game if they’re going to earn the right to compete for a second consecutive Stanley Cup. Forward Patrick Kane, who has yet to log a point in the Kings vs. Blackhawks series, had this to say:

“L.A. is playing pretty well, and we know they have momentum. They’re maybe the best team in the league, and have been the best team in the playoffs when they do have the momentum, so we’ve got to try to get it back from them and sustain it.”

According to an AP report, Blackhawks’ captain Jonathan Toews shared much the same sentiment:

“Once they got the lead, they seemed to get the momentum, and we couldn’t quite find our way back into the game. It’s up to us to play better with those leads.”

Last year, the Chicago Blackhawks knocked the then-defending Stanley Cup champion LA Kings out of the playoffs in five games. This year, the LA Kings look to return the favor with the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks. As always for the Kings, whether they can do it will rely heavily on the play of goaltender Jonathan Quick. When Quick is on his game, he’s one of the best in the league. When he’s not, he’s as beatable as they come.
