WWE: CM Punk Is In The Top 25, Says Jim Ross, But Would Vince McMahon Ever Let Phil In The WWE Hall Of Fame?

CM Punk is is among the top 25 best in the world wrestlers according to Jim Ross. Even assuming that is the case, would Vince McMahon and Triple H ever let Phil Brooks into the WWE Hall Of Fame?

In a related report by The Inquisitr, it was rumored that some WWE officials were so worried about the recent WWE stock drop that some felt Vince McMahon should pull the plug on the WWE Network and go back to the old way of doing business.

CM Punk’s WWE return is getting less and less likely as time has passed according to WWE insiders. At the same time, many feel that if he is coming back then WWE Payback 2014 makes the most sense since it’s based in his hometown of Chicago. Although something similar was said about a no-show at a Chicago-based Monday Night RAW, this idea makes sense it would be “Payback in Chicago for CM Punk” and it’s believed WWE Diva AJ Lee will be returning for that event, as well. In the mean time, apparently CM Punk is just enjoying life being plain old Philip and is looking forward to his marriage to AJ Lee. In fact, Brooks even used a baseball game as an opportunity to announce when he and his girlfriend are having their wedding.

Still, some people have already given up hope of CM Punk ever returning to the WWE and now talk has turned to Phil’s legacy. When Jim Ross was asked whether Punk’s abrupt departure after Royal Rumble 2014 would affect this legacy, Ross answered with a firm “Hell, no!” and gave even more reasons why he will be remembered for quite a while longer:

“I was asked today by the Chicago Tribune if CMPunk deserved to be in the top 25 of the all-time great wrestlers. I said that all these ‘All Time Top’ whatever lists are overly subjective but my list would be the talents whom I would want in my company if I owned a wrestling organization. By the way, that will never, ever, happen. Nonetheless, I’d absolutely want Punk on my team so therefore under my criteria he’s a top 25 guy. He’s too versatile, too skilled, an excellent hero or villain, can talk, has a great work ethic and is one of the smarter minds I’ve been around.”

While it is probably way, way too early to even suggest CM Punk belongs in the WWE Hall Of Fame, it is possible that as time passes the option will come up. The question is whether Phil would even want it (which depends on the real truth behind his departure and whether he’s just injured as the leaked RAW script claimed) or if the Authority would even allow for it to happen.

Regardless, here is the current rumor mill for the 2015 WWE Hall Of Fame:

“Another new name being discussed for the 2015 WWE Hall of fame class is Kevin Nash. He could possibly be inducted into the Hall of Fame as Diesel, similar to how Scott Hall was inducted as Razor Ramon. As previously reported, three other names already being rumored are The Rock, Rikishi, and Mickie James.”

Do you think in the long run that CM Punk deserves to be in the WWE Hall Of Fame?
