David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Tiesto To Perform At Sun City Music Festival

Thanks to the popularity of David Guetta and others, EDM (Electronic Dance Music) festivals are spreading like wildfire across the country. Established in 2011, the Sun City Music Festival has booked three of the biggest EDM acts: David Guetta, Martin Garrix, and Tiesto.

The festival is scheduled to take place August 30-31, which is Labor Day weekend. Already announced to join David Guetta and others is Showtek, W&W, Above & Beyond, and Carnage. The three-stage show will be hosted by the city of El Paso, at picturesque Ascarate Park.

Considering the price of other EDM festivals, tickets for this year event are going for a modest price of $99 for entry to both days of music, with VIP passes available for just $169. VIP passes get guests separate entrances and special viewing decks, among other things. This year’s event promoters guarantee a lineup of over 30 acts across the two-day event. Other booked acts will be announced during the summer leading up to the Sun City Music Festival.

In other David Guetta news, Lonely Island’s Andy Samberg put out a very funny video which has gone somewhat viral (by somewhat viral we mean very viral) where he imitates David Guetta and other EDM superstars such as Avicii as DJ Davinciii. The video, shown below, shows the David Guetta impostor furiously twisting knobs, frying eggs, raking a sand box, sketching a portrait and playing a game all the while teasing a bass drop button. Finally, he accepts a credit card payment and finally lets the bass drop and the results are quite… explosive!

Fans should probably expect heightened security as they venture out to see David Guetta and the rest of the Sun City Music Festival’s lineup. Other recent music festivals, such as the Ultra Music Festival in Miami has been discolored with violence up to and including death.

David Guetta will also be part of the Electric Zoo Festival that same weekend in New York City. The Electric Zoo Festival was forced to cancel an entire day last year over two ecstasy- related deaths. This year promises a superstar lineup and heightened security again. The only way New York City would issue a permit for this year’s event is on the agreement of heightened security including drug-sniffing dogs, thorough pat downs, and more undercover police.

Summertime always brings a wave of electronic dance music festivals which is a great way to see your favorite EDM acts. Just be aware that you will encounter higher security measures to see David Guetta and your other favorite artists.
