Beyoncé & Jay-Z Skip Kimye’s Wedding For Hamptons
Beyoncé and Jay-Z skipped Kim and Kanye’s wedding for a trip to the Hamptons instead. Kanye West’s best pal missed out on the wedding of the year, perhaps on purpose, and opted to spend Memorial Day weekend in the Hamptons with his wife and daughter. According to WetPaint, there likely isn’t a rift of any kind between the couples — the site seems to think that Bey and Jay just wanted some time out of the spotlight. Flying to Europe for an extravagant wedding this weekend just wasn’t in the cards for whatever reason.
However, Us Weekly points out the fact that Jay-Z might not have wanted to attend the wedding following the strange elevator fight from earlier this month.
Apparently Beyoncé and Jay-Z may have chosen to skip the wedding for the Hamptons because of another wedding guest. Fashion designer Rachel Roy might have been the driving force between the fight between Jay-Z and Solange Knowles. Sources say that Jay-Z didn’t want to cause any drama at Kimye’s wedding — and so he decided to sit this one out. Regardless, it’s still strange. Kanye and Jay-Z are total BFFs.

Who knew that Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s decision to skip the wedding and head to the Hamptons would cause such a stir on the internet? This was Kanye West’s first marriage and so some believe that this was an important event in his life that should have been attended by those who are closest to him. It is just completely weird that Bey and Jay didn’t show up. They had to have been invited, right?
As previously reported by The Inquisitr, there were some other surprise no-shows at this wedding. Kim’s step-brother, Brody Jenner, for example, didn’t make the trip to Paris (nor Florence) because he was allegedly upset that his invitation didn’t include a “plus one.” Although this is Kim’s third wedding, she wanted to share this new chapter in her life with her loved ones. For this reason, it’s kind of sad that Brody got bent out of shape and didn’t make the trip.
Kim and Kanye’s wedding was very intimate (for them) despite insane reports of 1,400-plus guests. There were about 200 people in attendance, all of whom are considered “close family and friends.” Although some of the closest family members and friends did not attend the nuptials, you can probably imagine that the day was just perfect for the newlyweds. Hopefully they release a photo soon.
