Taylor Swift Can’t Live Without Red Lipstick
Taylor Swift thinks she looks a little funny without her trademark red lipstick.
Can you immediately recall a moment when the country music darling wasn’t sporting the iconic look? This writer is struggling to recall a photo of Swift without that pop of red around her mouth. That’s probably because Taylor believes her face looks a little peculiar without the right shade of lipstick.
To be fair, Taylor Swift doesn’t necessarily look bad without her favorite makeup. However, it’s definitely a bit odd to see her without the red lipstick since most of us are so accustomed to the look. Check out the image embedded below to properly compare the difference.

During her recent chat with People magazine, Taylor Swift discussed her reliance on red lipstick. Since the singer thinks its absence results in a somewhat unflattering appearance, chances are you won’t catch Taylor without it on too many occasions.
“Right now [I’m using] Dragon Girl by NARS… I’ll go through different phases with makeup and always try new things,” Swift told the publication.
She continued, “Except I never really get too far from red lipstick, do I? I guess I just think my face looks worse without it. That’s pretty much the only rationale behind it.”
The singer also addressed rumors that she has a tendency to stockpile an unhealthy amount of makeup in her home. Swift explained, “I don’t have an excessive amount! I just find one I like and use it.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time someone has bugged Taylor Swift about her obsession with red lipstick. She previously discussed the topic with the folks at Red Book. In addition to admitting that she always wears that particular kind of makeup, Taylor gave fans a few pointers on how to apply it.
“I swipe on my lipstick, place a tissue between my lips, and blot. Then, if I really need the color to last, I hold the tissue against my mouth and brush translucent powder over it, which sets the color,” the country music darling revealed.
When she isn’t sharing beauty pointers with the masses, Taylor Swift is extremely busy putting together her next studio album. According to Hypable, the singer should have the new batch of songs in the can and on retail shelves before the end of the year. You can rest assured that the cover art will likely feature Swift and her iconic red lipstick.
