Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy concept morphed into Revelations

Remember the Assassin’s Creed 3DS game announced at E3 last year, dubbed Lost Legacy? It dropped completely off the radar afters its announcement, so you’d be forgiven if you didn’t.

In a recent interview with Joystiq, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations lead writer Darby McDevitt revealed that the Lost Legacy‘s concept was ported over to what became Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, which might explain why we haven’t been hearing anything about it.

“You may have heard of the game ‘Lost Legacy’ for the 3DS. It was announced, but that kind of morphed into this idea,” McDevitt told Joystiq.

The story of Lost Legacy was to follow Ezio as he traces back the origins of the Assassin’s Order, embarking on a quest towards Masyaf, the Assassin city from the first Assassin’s Creed. If you’ve been keeping up with your Assassin’s Creed news, you’ll recognize that as the plot for Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.

While this appears to spell certain doom for the 3DS title as it was, it doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing the franchise make its way over to the 3DS. We’ll likely just have to wait a bit longer to see it, though.
